Documentary collection for exporters
When your company uses a documentary collection, the documents can be delivered to your buyer only after he has paid the amount due or signed a bill of exchange that falls due at maturity.

It offers to the exporter a degree of security in the transaction as the Bank keeps the documents at their counters and release them only against payment on sight basis or at maturity. Documentary collections are subject to Uniform Rules for Collections (URC), ICC Publication No. 522.
